6 organizations that are matching donations for Giving Tuesday
In advance of the 9th annual Giving Tuesday, which takes place on Dec. 1 this year, many charity organizations have launched matching campaigns in an effort to convince Americans to donate in honor of the occasion.
Giving Tuesday, described as a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world,” was created in 2012. It has taken place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving ever since. On Giving Tuesday 2019, $1.97 billion was raised worldwide, with more than $500 million raised in the United States alone.
