Adele to Sing at the 2012 Olympics?
Adele could sing for the 2012 Olympics, which will take place in London, England, this year.
Adele's Olympics performance would close out the sporting event, although her booking has not yet been confirmed. She, among other artists, has been approached to provide an "elegant mash-up of British Music" for the games, according to musical director Kim Gavin.
"Without saying we have booked anyone, it goes from Elgar to Adele," the director told The Telegraph. "It is not just a pop concert, it is not just a classical rendition. It will be everything that we think is fabulous about British music."

The summer Olympics, which will have its finale Aug. 12, will close with many artists performing, giving "nods and winks" to legends, and paying homage to some of the best British music today, as well.
Some artists suggested for the event were Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, and the Spice Girls. The Spice Girls have made it public, though, that they don't intend to perform.
Gavin, who directed the 2007 memorial concert for Princess Diana, seems confident that the "biggest after-show party" will be a stunning success.
"We are taking a box of fabulously well-done tunes. The songs are the key. We are putting them together to write one piece of music that is fabulously balanced," Gavin told The Telegraph.
"We are trying to introduce something that is an absolute melting pot of British creativity," he added.
Adele, who won six Grammy Awards for her critically acclaimed album, "21," and its single, "Rolling in the Deep," could be an attractive headliner for the event. At the Grammy Award show, she sang "Rolling in the Deep" and was met with a boisterous standing ovation that was sustained for several minutes.
"This record is inspired by something that is really normal and everyone's been through it – just a rubbish relationship," said the British songstress while accepting her award onstage. "It's gone on to do things that I can't tell you how I feel about them … It's been the most life-changing year," said a grateful Adele through tears.
