Anthony Weiner Trying to Be Best Husband, Dad Post-Scandal, Says Wife
Anthony Weiner has spent every day since the lewd Twitter photo scandal last year "trying to be the best dad and husband he can be," according to his wife.
The former New York congressman has been busy raising his son, now six months old, with his wife Huma Abedin.
"I'm proud to be married to him," Abedin, who serves as deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, told People magazine. She also said Weiner has been doing all the laundry.
Weiner, meanwhile, said he is "very happy" right now.
It's been one year since Weiner stepped down from Congress after confessing to sending inappropriate images and text messages to six women over a three-year period. He said he did not have physical relations with any of the women.
The confession came after a conservative blogger caught the congressman's shared photo of himself on Twitter. The sexually suggestive photo, sent to a woman, was deleted by Weiner but blogger Andrew Breitbart went public with news of the photo.
After initially denying that he sent the photo, Weiner later confessed to sending it.
At the time of his confession and later resignation, it was revealed that the Democrat's wife was pregnant with their first child.
Abedin told People, "It took a lot of work to get to where we are today, but I want people to know we're a normal family."
