Chris Tomlin Announces 'Worship Night in America' 2017 Nationwide Tour
Grammy Award-winning worship leader Chris Tomlin finds his calling in bringing believers together in unity and prayer, and on April 4, 2017, he'll be going back out on the road for the 23-city "Worship Night in America" tour.
Extending the popular Worship Night in America event into a nationwide tour, the lineup will feature Tomlin, Big Daddy Weave, Phil Wickham, Zach Williams, Mosaic MSC and Jason Barton. Making 23 stops across the U.S., the praise crooner is looking to pack out arenas with thousands of voices lifted in praise to God.
"It's powerful when all streams of the Church come together in an act of unity to worship and pray ... that's the heart behind Worship Night in America," Tomlin said in a statement shared with The Christian Post. "I pray these nights are filled with revival and restoration as we all join together proclaiming one name."
The upcoming tour follows a series of Worship Night in America events over the last two years in which every event was sold out. The Texas native managed to sell out Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks and other iconic venues.
Last month, Tomlin also debuted a one-night movie event in select theaters nationwide to bring people from across the country together for a night of worship and prayer. He said his goal was not to have a politically-driven event, but instead to provide an evening for believers to join together on a single night to pray for the nation.
"Worship Night in America: An Evening of Unity and Prayer for Our Country," was shown at 450 theaters and churches nationwide. In the film, audiences heard impactful messages from best-selling author Max Lucado and internationally known speaker, pastor and author Louie Giglio, along with powerful worship through songs led by Tomlin, Matt Redman, Matt Maher, Phil Wickham, Kim Walker-Smith and Tasha Cobbs.
The busy psalmist also recently released his 11th studio album Never Lose Sight, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart. The album features the RIAA Gold Certified single "Good Good Father."
Rounding out a successful year, Tomlin was honored last month as being the fourth recipient of the SoundExchange Digital Radio Award, recognizing more than 1 billion digital radio plays.
