Doomsday Preacher Harold Camping Emerging From Retirement with New Prediction?

Despite reports of retirement following his second failed doomsday prediction, rumors are swirling that radio preacher Harold Camping might be preparing his next rapture prediction.

Camping is analyzing the bible and studying hidden languages that will lead him to the date the world will end, according to a Gather website report.

The report also said Camping still has followers despite his two failed premonitions. Some of his devout followers emptied their pockets and donated big money to promote his first two predictions.

Family Radio and Camping refused to talk to the press after his Oct. 21 rapture vision failed to take form.

However, in an apology posted on the Family Radio website shortly after Oct. 21, Camping said: "In our search in the Bible, we must continue to look to the Bible. Because that is where truth comes from. And God in His own timetable and in His own purposes will reveal truth to us when it's His time to do it. In any case, we do not have to have a feeling of calamity or a feeling that God has abandoned us."

The radio preacher initially predicted that doomsday would occur on May 21, and believers would ascend to heaven, leaving the rest of the world to perish.

The world did not end on May 21, but Camping said God warned us that the “spiritual judgment” came at that time.

Camping based his predictions on two passages from the bible. One prediction was based on God telling Noah that he will bring a flood in seven days, and the other stating that for God, a day is like a thousand years. Thus, after doing a bit of math, Camping thought the world would end exactly 7000 years after the flood.

Camping suffered a stroke in June and turned 90 on July 19.
