Google Nexus 7 32GB Release Confirmed
The Google Nexus 7 32GB release was confirmed by Google today.
The company will launch the wildly popular tablet with the higher memory capacity in the near future.
Two versions of the device will be available including a 32GB Wi-Fi only model priced at $249 and a Wi-Fi + HSPA+ model priced at $299.
The 16GB Wi-Fi model will retail for $199 when the 32GB version launches.
The Google Nexus 7 has become the highest selling Android tablet in the U.K., according to a recent report.
The Telegraph is now reporting that just three months after its official launch in the U.K., the Google Nexus 7 has become the highest selling Android tablet at retailer Carphone Warehouse.
The Nexus 7 still comes in second to Apple's various iPad models, but with its £159 price tag, the device has eclipsed other Android mainstays such as the Asus Transformer Prime and Samsung Galaxy Tab lines.
Graham Stapleton, the Chief Commercial Officer at Carphone Warehouse stated the reason why he feels the Nexus 7 has had such great success in the market.
"Looking at the sales of the Google Nexus tablet, it's clear that there is a massive demand amongst our customer base for smaller tablets," he said to the Telegraph. We're seeing a real shift in what customers are using their tablets for, with more and more watching content on the go."
"It's now common to see people using their tablets during the morning commute or catching up on the day's news in a local coffee shop, and smaller devices make it easier to handle," continued Stapleton. "We've seen that 59 percent of total tablet sales in our stores are sold as either connected or tethered, to allow access to the internet on tablets that don't have built in 3G connectivity."
