iPhone 4S Features: Verizon, AT&T and Sprint Data Plan Comparison

The release of the iPhone 4S is just one day away on Oct. 14, and Apple enthusiasts now have three U.S. networks to choose from to power their new smartphones.

While the same iPhone 4S is being offered on all three networks due to Apple developing the phone with dual-antennae that allows for capability with both GSM and CMDA networks, Verizon, AT&T and Sprint's vastly varying networks essentially make three different versions of the iPhone 4S.

The different networks cater to different data needs.

CNN Money notes that AT&T is most economical for users who don't need a lot of data. The network offers the fastest and least expensive iPhone.

Verizon offers the cheapest plans for those who use an average amount of data and texts and has the highest rating for customer satisfaction and service equality.

Sprint is the best network for users that consume a lot of data due to its unlimited data plan.

In comparison, without texts, 200MB of data costs $55 on AT&T, $70 on Verizon and $80 on Sprint while 5GB of data costs $95 on AT&T, $90 on Verizon and $80 on Sprint.

With texts, 200MB of data costs $75 on AT&T, $90 on Verizon and $80 on Sprint while 5GB of data costs $115 on AT&T, $110 on Verizon and $80 on Sprint.

All three networks also offer 2GB and 4GB data plans.

The iPhone 4S sells for $199, $299 and $399 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models respectively, with a two-year contract.

The iPhone 4S sold out in just 24-hours when it became available for pre-order on Oct. 7; over 1 million pre-orders were sold.

Analysts project that the iPhone 4S will sell 3 million handsets during the holiday quarter.
