Justin Bieber Praised by Megachurch Pastor for Revealing Public Faith in Christ
Lakewood Megachurch pastor for the Hispanic Congregation Marcos Witt has expressed his admiration for 17-year-old Justin Bieber for being able to talk openly about his faith in Jesus Christ to his fans.
Witt, famous for his Spanish gospel singing, said in an interview that he believes God calls people to work in His name in different ways.
“Each one of us should be accountable to God. Not everyone will be singing praises do God,” said the Hispanic Christian singer in an interview.
In particular, Witt referred to Canadian Bieber, who is a confessed Christian not ashamed of talking about his faith in Christ.
“I admired how this young man has driven the imagination of a generation. I admire his passion, his discipline, his dedication to do things with excellence. This boy is really admirable,” the Hispanic pastor said.
Witt, 49, who will celebrate his 25-year career anniversary with two concerts on 18 and 19 September at the National Auditorium, said he was pleased that there are high-impact global figures that can bring the influence of God in their lives to the general public.
Pop singer Bieber started his singing in his church in Canada, and the Lakewood Pastor admits he is amazed as to how the young star professes Jesus Christ as his Lord without any inhibitions.
Justin Bieber has taken many opportunities to talk about his faith and thank God during his award acceptance speeches. Recently, Bieber expressed his gratitude at the MTV Video Music Awards for winning Best Male Video.
"I just want to say thank you so much, not only to God but to Jesus," Bieber said. "Because I wouldn't be here without him. He's really blessed me. He's put me in this position. So I want to say thank you so much."
Previously in another interview he also confessed: “He [Jesus] is the reason I’m here, so definitely I have to remember that.”
Bieber's mother, Patricia Lynn Mallette, is a devout Christian. Initially, she was hesitant to have her son enter the secular music industry and pondered the Christian music industry instead. However, she has testified that she prayed about it and realized that God wanted her son to be a light in the world.
