Katherine Heigl Adopted Baby Girl, Debuts Name

Katherine Heigl has named her baby girl Adalaide Marie Hope Kelley after welcoming her home this week.

While traveling with her mother in Beverly Hills, Calif., Heigl was spotted carrying precious cargo in a car seat on Wednesday. The actress and her husband Josh Kelley adopted Adalaide domestically, and the baby girl was also welcomed by older sister Naleigh, who the couple adopted in 2009.

"She is loving being a big sister," a source close to Heigl said, according to People magazine. "Everyone is doing great. They're thrilled to add to the family!"

The "27 Dresses" star toted Adalaide wearing bright blue jeans paired with high heels and a designer handbag after having lunch with her mother, Nancy.

In past interviews, Heigl has opened up about the adoption process that surrounded her 3-year-old Naleigh.

"I fought very hard to be accepted as a mom by my daughter," explained the 33-year-old actress speaking the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag. "Her rejection almost broke my heart."

Heigl and her husband of five years adopted the then-10-month old Naleigh from South Korea.

"People are always talking about the strong bond between mother and daughter, this magical connection- but we didn't have that," admitted the "Knocked Up" star. "[The early days with Naleigh] were the hardest time in my life."

The former "Grey's Anatomy" star added that her husband's easy bond with Naleigh was upsetting for her.

"I wasn't exactly jealous," Heigl explained. "But I was a little bit envious [of he and Naleigh's closeness]."

Heigl noted that Naleigh has since opened up to her.

"It takes time for a child to trust this new situation and to trust you," Heigl advised. "My advice is don't be discouraged. The reward [of adopting] is so great," she told the magazine.
