Kathy Ireland Is Richest Super Model in the World

Supermodel Kathy Ireland has become the new mogul for domestic products, according to the newest edition of Forbes magazine, making her the wealthiest supermodel in the world.

Ireland, who launched her career as a model, graces the cover of Forbes magazine for the Feb. 27 edition. On the cover Ireland poses in a pink shirt with the title "Super Model Super Mogul."

The California-born supermodel was discovered at the age of 16 and quickly became famous for her looks, but she began her entrepreneurial career in the 1990s selling socks and eventually a clothing line at Kmart.

Following her clothing line success, Ireland founded the company "Kathy Ireland Worldwide" and has since switched her focus from clothing to a slue of home-goods products, such as rugs, bedding, lighting, and even office furniture that has made her extremely wealthy and extremely successful.

Ireland's brand, Katy Ireland Worldwide, sells over 15,000 various products, targeted mostly to busy mothers. The brand sells around $2 billion worth of products, making her the richest supermodel in the world and making her "a bigger licensor than the formidable Martha Stewart," according to Forbes.

The successful businesswoman, mother of three, and devout Christian who has relied on her business instincts to develop her brand, passed on some advice to younger generations of models in the Forbes article.

When asked by the magazine what advice she would give to new Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton, Ireland said that Upton should not be afraid to have a plan.

"An agenda is not a bad thing," the model that has starred in various workout videos and written three books shared.

"So many young people say, 'I'm just going to see what happens.' It's so much more powerful to make things happen and have a plan," Ireland added.
