Ken Ham Calls Richard Dawkins 'Blind' for Criticizing Creationist Candidates
Creation Museum CEO and President Ken Ham has called atheist author Richard Dawkins "blind" and suggested that he has a "closed mind" for criticizing GOP presidential candidates who would identify as creationists.
During an interview with Fox News Radio last week, Dawkins claimed that all GOP candidates are creationists, which he called "disgraceful."
"The fact that one of the two major political parties, every single candidate except one says they don't believe in evolution, they don't even believe in the fundamental principle of biology, which is a fact," Dawkins asserted.
The evolutionary biologist did not explain specifically which of the candidates he was referring to, however.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has in the past said that Charles Darwin's theory of evolution was inspired by "forces of evil," but recently also criticized Young Earth creationists who insist that there is no way the Earth can be billions of years old, as most scientists claim.
Dawkins was also asked whether he would ever change his mind on God, and said: "Just show me some evidence and I'll change."
Ham responded to all this on his Answers in Genesis blog, where he wrote that "Dawkins has been shown overwhelming evidence by many people," and said that the atheist author reminds him of the Pharisees in John 9 in the Bible.
"After Jesus had healed the man blind from birth, the Pharisees questioned the man and his parents, and even with the evidence glaring at them, they refused to believe. People like Dawkins also remind me of the chief priests in John 12:10 who wanted to kill Lazarus, the man Jesus raised from the dead," Ham continued.
"Because of their hardened hearts, they refused to believe Jesus raised Lazarus and decided to try to kill Lazarus to get rid of the evidence! Yes, these are apt comparisons when you consider people like Richard Dawkins. We need to pray for him. His heart is hard and he is blind."
The Creation Museum CEO claimed that Dawkins "has spent most of his life rejecting the writings of Moses, particularly Genesis, and trying to get as many people as he can to follow his rebellious lifestyle that leads directly to Hell."
He added: "Yes, we do need to pray much for him."
Ham has called out Dawkins on a number of previous occasions, and back in June said that the evolutionary biologist is "so aggressive" in his atheism because he knows the truth, but denies it.
"They know God exists — the evidence is within them and all around them. But because of their sin nature, they don't want God. They are at war with God," He said at the time of atheists like Dawkins.
"Because the evidence within man and all around us in the creation is so strong, these atheists actively and aggressively attack Christianity and promote their atheism in order to 'suppress the truth in unrighteousness.'"
Back in October 2013, Dawkins said that he refuses to debate people who believe in the Young Earth creation theory, since he doesn't want to give such people the attention that they want.
"When the debate is with someone like a Young Earth creationist, as the late Stephen Gould pointed out — they've won the moment you agree to have a debate at all. Because what they want is the oxygen of respectability," Dawkins said at the time.
