LeAnn Rimes Suffers 'Dental Nightmare,' Cancels Show
LeAnn Rimes appeared to be in good spirits during her performance in Los Angeles on Saturday night despite suffering from an ongoing dental infection. The problem recently became so severe that she was forced to cancel a show the night before.
The troubled singer was set to kick off her tour on Friday night before she performed at the Kick It Off & Kick It Up anniversary gala at The Autry National Center on Saturday, but she canceled the show and took to Twitter to explain why.
"I feel like I got hit in my right side of my face with a baseball bat :( NOT a good feeling when I am getting on a plane," Rimes tweeted Saturday.
"For all my fans at Wendover [Nevada] last night [Friday], the show will be rescheduled, not a canceled show. WORST way ever to kick off a tour.....under anesthesia and a massive infection. Well, onward and upward. It can only get better from here!!!" she added.
The 30-year-old, who is currently spending time in a treatment facility for stress and anxiety, has been in and out of the facility to fulfill pre-planned performance obligations.
The singer took to her blog on Sunday where she described her recent set back as a "dental nightmare" before requesting prayers from fans.
"I've been living in a dental nightmare for 10 months. I'm getting back on track though, I hope. I've had too many detours this year due to dental issues. I'm finally in great hands and being well taken care of," Rimes wrote. "Let's just pray I'm on the mend. I'll see you all on the road very soon."
Rimes voluntarily entered the treatment center after allegedly breaking down over ongoing abuse that she claims to have received for years on social networking site Twitter. Her controversial marriage to Eddie Cibrian is said to be the key reason that some critics are continuously lashing out at the singer.
In 2009, Rimes had an affair with Eddie Cibrian despite them both being married to other people. Since admitting to the affair, Rimes' public image has suffered tremendously, with former fans blasting the singer as a homewrecker. The alleged abuse reportedly prompted her recent breakdown.
"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress," Rimes' representative, Marcel Pariseau, told People magazine in a statement. "While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
