Meagan Good Performs Burlesque Show Before Marrying Preacher DeVon Franklin
Meagan Good, 30-year-old "Think Like a Man" actress, had her bachelorette party in Las Vegas recently where she performed as a burlesque dancer. However, the soon-to-be-preacher's wife admitted that her husband wasn't too happy about the idea and that people in church may have something to say about it.
Good admitted that her fiance DeVon Franklin, a preacher and Hollywood producer, was not too happy about her choice to perform on stage as a burlesque dancer in Las Vegas.
"He is not ecstatic about it, but it's a bachelorette party. It's the last time before I'm a married woman, and he understands that," Good told the Las Vegas Sun. "He wants me to have fun and be happy and do the things that I want to do on my bucket list and not let people's opinions of what I should and shouldn't be doing control how we live our lives."
The actress said although she was unsure of how people in church would react, she would not concern herself with their opinions.
"I don't think there is anything wrong with being sexy or cheeky or funny," Good said in a People magazine report. "I don't know how some church folk are going to be, but at the end of the day it's between me and God and my husband."
Still, the actress said she would not perform in the same way as other Pussycat Dolls have done on the Las Vegas stage.
"I'm actually not going to undress. I'm going to be a Pussycat Doll, the overly dressed Pussycat Doll," Good told the Las Vegas Sun. "I am only going to be doing some burlesque dancing, but I won't be doing any stripping of clothes. Las Vegas will just see a little bit!"
While some may be surprised that Good is preparing to marry a preacher, she told the Las Vegas publication that she has always been a spiritual individual.
"He loves God more than I love God, so I don't think there's anything wrong with him," she said. "We both are very spiritual, but we also love the art, and we also enjoy every aspect of making movies and me being in movies, so it is hand in hand."
