NeNe Leakes in Tears After Kim Zolciak Reconciliation

NeNe Leakes was recently reduced to tears after an emotional reconciliation with her former best friend Kim Zolciak.

The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star took to social network site Twitter Wednesday where she revealed that she and Zolciak, 33, had buried the hatchet. The pair had been embroiled in an ongoing feud for years and Leakes appeared to be moved by a gesture made by Zolciak's daughter, Brielle.

"Just had the best chat wit @Kimzolciak! Now I see @BrielleZolciak is following me! I just pulled off the road 2 cry. This is 2 much," Leakes tweeted March 27.

Zolciak, who made minimal appearances on the "Real Housewives" during season five, shared the same sentiments.

"My heart is at such peace @neneleakes best chat ever! See u soon! #onwardandupward," Zolciak tweeted.

"I must say I am very happy too that @neneleakes and I had a heart to heart! We made a pact!" another tweet read.

During a 2012 appearance on the Wendy Williams show, Zolciak revealed that she was open to a reconciliation with Leakes, 45.

"I think the problem with NeNe honestly is that Nene doesn't have the tools to communicate effectively. ... Like, people get in arguments with my girlfriends and you disagree, but you can't get loud and violent, that's a problem," Zolciak told Williams.

"If she had the tools to communicate effectively and kind of work through things, then there's a possibility that I'd sit down and have a conversation," she explained.

Leakes, who is engaged to her ex-husband Gregg, confirmed that Zolciak would be invited to attend her upcoming nuptials Thursday.

"I'm extending an olive branch," Leakes told In Touch magazine. "[Kim's] invited to my wedding, and I believe she'll come."

Zolciak confirmed that while she is yet to receive a formal invitation, she plans to attend her former best friend's summer wedding.

"I have always been and I continue to be happy for NeNe, and I look forward to being invited to the wedding," Zolciak said.

"NeNe and I started this journey together and although we have had our ups and downs, I am excited to get our friendship back on track," the mother of four continued. "We were friends long before RHOA, and we will be friends long after RHOA if it's up to me."
