Prince George Christening Gift: William Thanks Kenyan Tribe for Cow Herd

Prince William recently penned a "thank you" letter to a Kenyan community that gifted his son, baby George Alexander Louis, with a herd of Cows.

The Duke of Cambridge expressed gratitude and delight while thanking the Samburu community for giving Prince George four heifers, a bull, and a goat in honor of his October christening. The animals will reportedly be raised in Lewa, where William and Kate Middleton, both 31, enjoyed a safari get-a-way in 2010.

The christening gift is believed to be symbolic and of deeply significant honor, which William acknowledged in his letter.

"Thank you all so very much for the extraordinary honour. I remember my time with you with immense happiness and I could not be more grateful to you all for this kindness," William wrote as reported by Us magazine.

"It brings me great joy to know George's 'pension' will be herded on a land we care deeply for. We hope one day he will be able to see them for himself," he added.

Prince George, who was born on July 22, was christened before the royal family at St. James's palace on October 23.

Also in attendance were Prince George's seven godparents, including William's cousin Zara Tindall, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, Oliver Baker, who is a friend from St. Andrew's University, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, who went to school with the Duchess of Cambridge, and William van Cutsem, a childhood friend of William.

The other godparents are Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, a former private secretary to the Duke and Duchess; Julia Samuel, who was a good friend of William's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales; and Earl Grosvenor, son of the Duke of Westminster.
