'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Phaedra Parks Says 'God Is in Control' as Rep Confirms Apollo Nida Divorce
Phaedra Parks is said to be leaning on her faith as reports confirm she is preparing to divorce her husband Apollo Nida.
Last week the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star shared a scripture on social networking site Instagram that touched on finding "strength" in God. On Friday her rep confirmed that the Atlanta based attorney intends to end her four-year marriage to Nida, who is currently behind bars after pleading guilty to bank fraud.
"Have a super Sunday! #theword #bible #bibleverse #Godisincontrol," Parks captioned on Instagram alongside a scripture that read: "God is our refuge and strength. An ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea Psalm 46: 1,2."

Parks, who shares two young sons, Dylan and Ayden, with Nida, has struggled with her marriage to the convicted felon for some time.
Last month he began serving an eight-year sentence and the legal trouble added strain on his marriage to the Bravo TV star.
In a statement obtained by E! News, Steve Honig, who is Parks' rep, said his client "has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage."
"[She's] now putting all of her energy into ensuring the well-being of her two children and making decisions that are in their best interests," he said. "This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra and her family and she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone's lives."
In the past Parks and Nida prided themselves on having a "traditional" and "biblical" marriage, however, they were unable to overcome ongoing issues. Their drama is expected to play out on season 7 of "Housewives."
Nida, who was once convicted of felony possession of a firearm among other offenses, was previously sentenced to 18 years in prison, and he began serving that sentence in July 2004.
Parks married Nida shortly after he was paroled in May 2009, and she was constantly forced to defend him in the press.
"My husband was convicted of a white-collar crime. It was racketeering... I married my husband because I loved him and he loved me and I think that's the foundation of any good relationship," Parks once said in a public statement.
