Duggar Family News: Joseph Duggar Announces Courtship With Kendra Caldwell
The Duggars are definitely enjoying a big year. Following the announcement that Joy-Anna is now engaged to Austin Forsyth, a new Duggar courtship has been announced. 22-year-old Joseph is courting Kendra Caldwell.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the announcement was made through a video. Kendra, who is 18 years old, was asked by Joseph to enter a courtship with him. The surprise came with a promise ring that made the moment even sweeter.
"We've been talking for about six months and right when we started talking, we really hit it off really well," Joseph said. "I'm looking forward to side-hugs and getting to do phone calls and texting and also getting to do ministry stuff out in public for everyone to know we're courting," Kendra added.

PEOPLE notes that in the video, Joseph revealed that the Duggars and the Caldwells are close family friends. Joseph went on to reveal that the friendship of the two families has allowed him to get to know Kendra better. "She's the best," he said of Kendra.
The big news came only a week after Joy-Anna and Austin announced their engagement. Compared with Jessa and Jill's courtship period, Joy-Anna's was much quicker. On the other hand, Austin and Joy-Anna have been friends for 15 years so it's no wonder they don't need to get to know each other any better. Austin has received the blessing of Jim Bob Duggar during the final episode of "Counting On" season 3.
U.S. Weekly reports that Austin and Joy-Anna got engaged on March 2. "I'm excited to see what the future holds for us," Austin told the outlet. Joy-Anna also divulged a few details about how the proposal went. Joy-Anna said it was "romantic" and "amazing." More details are expected to be shown next season in "Counting On."
It is expected that Joseph's courtship and Joy-Anna's wedding preparations will be featured in "Counting On" season 4. The new installment premieres sometime summer on TLC.
