30 Rock Star Tina Fey Welcomes Second Baby Girl

Comedienne, actress and author Tina Fey has welcomed her second child with husband Jeffrey Richmond.

The baby girl, named Penelope Athena was born on Friday and joins older sister, five-year-old Alice.

Fey, best known for her work on sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" as well as her role as Liz Lemon on sitcom "30 Rock," announced her pregnancy while visiting the "Oprah Winfrey Show" in April to promote her new book "Bossypants."

She explained at that time that she didn't want her work to impede in her family's desire to expand.

“I thought '30 Rock' would be canceled by now and I would have time to do this,” she told Oprah.

"My husband and I really decided that we felt rather than risk having '30 Rock' end in several years and feeling like part of our family is missing that we were going to prioritize our family."

Incorporating her pregnancy into her funny-woman career, Fey hosted the Mother's Day episode of "Saturday Night Live" on May 7 and did a duet with also then pregnant former co-star Maya Rudolph, who gave birth to son Jack on July 3; singing “Natalie Cole-style” with their then unborn babies.

Fey also visited the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" and joked with Ellen that instead of finding out the baby's sex before hand, she would just wait and see what it chooses to wear to prom.

On The Late Late Show, she told Craig Ferguson, “It’s going to be a werewolf.”

Fey met her husband, "30 Rock" composer Jeff Richmond at a Chicago’s Second City comedy club and married in June 2001 after dating for seven years.

The upcoming season of "30 Rock" is scheduled to begin midseason due to Fey’s pregnancy.
