Prolific author and pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, Calif., John MacArthur, will receive the National Religious Broadcaster's highest honor, the NRB Hall of Fame Award, next Tuesday at the National Religious Broadcaster 2013 Convention & Exposition in Nashville, Tenn.

"It is our honor and privilege to induct John into NRB's Hall of Fame," said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright in a statement. "John's commitment and faithfulness have inspired so many in their walk with Christ. I praise God for his exemplary ministry!"

MacArthur can be heard internationally with his radio and TV program "Grace to You," and has authored nearly 400 books or study guides, including the popular MacArthur Study Bible and The Gospel According to Jesus. He is also president of The Master's College and Seminary.

The NRB describes its Hall of Fame award "as a witness for current communicators, a showcase of warriors for Christ who live exemplary lives of valor and compassion, blazing trails and leaving paths for succeeding generations to follow." It is given to "an individual NRB member for invaluable contribution to the field of Christian communications, exhibition of the highest standards and evidence of faithfulness in Christ."

MacArthur announced in September 2011 that his "Grace to You" TV program started satellite TV broadcasting into the entire Muslim world for the first time on Sept. 1, 2011. During the "Grace to You" program, the California pastor leads viewers in a series of Bible studies.

"There I am, preaching with Arabic subtitles on satellite television in 72 countries in North Africa, Europe and the Middle East," MacArthur had told the more than 3,500 at the conference and those watching on the Internet during the "Truth Matters" conference in September 2011. "So, we are really grateful that the Lord opened up that opportunity for us. We just send the word out and let the Lord do what He will with it."

Last year, Joni Eareckson Tada, president of Joni and Friends and a prominent disabilities advocate, was awarded the NRB Hall of Fame award. The Christian Post interviewed Tada about her NRB award last year and she said, "If I have any secret to being content, it's that I recognize that my weakness is an asset because it drives me into the arms of Jesus." Tada is a quadriplegic due a car accident at the age of 18.

MacArthur will be presented the NRB Hall of Fame Award during the Awards Dinner on Tuesday, March 5.
