Channing Tatum and Wife Jenna Announce Baby News

Channing and Jenna Dewan Tatum have announced Monday that they are expecting their first child together.

The couple "are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year," said a representative speaking to People magazine.

It comes as no surprise that this year's "Sexiest Man Alive" and his wife are growing their family, as the actor recently admitted that were thinking about it.

"I'm ready; I think she's ready," said Tatum of he and his wife having children, according to People magazine. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."

Furthermore, Dewan Tatum sparked rumors after donning a loose-fitting blue gown and holding her stomach on Sunday at VH-1's Divas event.

On Twitter, many of the Tatum's friends and fans are celebrating the baby news.

"@JennaDewan congrats to you and your hubby on your great news," wrote LeAnn Rimes Cibrian.

Anne posted, "Congratulations to Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum! I'm sure your child will be beautiful, talented, and well-loved. #favoritecouple."

Both actors and soon-to-be parents have gushed about their marriage in the past. Married since 2009, Dewan-Tatum recently described her husband as "emotionally deep and spiritually open," according to the magazine.

"He is such a open-hearted person," said the 31-year-old "American Horror Story" star. "What you see is what you get."

In addition to being named "Sexiest Man Alive" this year, Tatum also earned GQ's "Man of the Year." The 32-year-old actor also had three major hit films this year, including "The Vow," "Magic Mike," and "21 Jumpstreet."

Next year, Tatum will appear in films including "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "Side Effects," "White House Down," and "Foxcatcher."

Despite his acting success, Tatum revealed he soon will turn his attention to getting behind the camera.

"By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct," said Tatum while to Entertainment Weekly and referring to his production partner, Reid Carolin.
