Davion Only Adoption: Orphaned Teen to Spend Christmas With Prospective Family
Davion Only, 15, made international headlines when he attended a church in Florida and asked for anyone to adopt him. Now his wish is coming true and he will be spending Christmas with a prospective adoptive family.
"Davion has moved from his group home placement at Carlton Manor to a foster home where he is enjoying getting to know the family," Only's biological aunt, Doris Barnes, told Daily Mail. "Davion is excited to be spending the holidays with a perspective adoptive family. I know he is going out of town with a family for Christmas. I wanted to buy him a present and maybe see him, but I can't because he's not going to be around. I just want him to be happy and loved and to be with someone who is going to do the best for his future."
In October, Only appealed to a 300-member congregation for a new family, after being bounced around to numerous care facilities.

"I'll take anyone. Old or young, dad or mom, black, white, purple. I don't care. And I would be really appreciative. The best I could be… I know God hasn't given up on me, so I'm not giving up either," Only said.
He has since gone on to become a spokesperson for all children who are currently waiting for their forever families. Only even spoke to Florida Governor Rick Scott about the adoptive process and what could be done to help those children find families and be cared for while they are in that process.
"Even though I'm going through an adoption process right now at the moment, I still hope that other kids in foster care get the benefit that I'm going to have to be adopted and to have somewhere to call home and to have a bed to call theirs," Only explained.
While the biological family regrets not having more contact with Only, they do want the best for the teen and hopes he finds his forever family sooner rather than later.
