Jackie Chan Death Hoax 2013: July Report Stated Actor Fell From Building
Jackie Chan is still not dead, although rumors on the Internet persist on the Internet.
The martial arts actors has been the target of death hoaxes more than once, the first one which started in 2011 with a Facebook post that read: "Jackie Chan R.I.P 08/17/2011." Last month a second death hoax set off Twitter users after a publication wrote a report detailing how Chan had passed during an accident on a film set.
"Preliminary reports from Austrian Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 50 feet to his death in a remote area of the Hahnenkamm mountains while on-set during the filming of a movie. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12)," the Global Associated News report read.

A third, smaller hoax began on Thursday morning when a tweet went out that the actor fell of a 12-story building while filming a movie. The story appeared false, however. To contest such rumors, Chan has promised in the past to announce his own death.
"These few years, there have repeatedly been false news which has caused my fans and friends who care about me, to worry if I am dead! If I am really dead, I will definitely announce it," he joked in a Facebook post last month.
The actor also showed proof that he was living after the last hoax, posting a picture of himself with a newspaper and its date. The actor appeared to take the issue light heartedly again joking with fans about reporting his death in the caption of the picture.
"Everybody called me to see if I was alive," Chan wrote on his Facebook wall on June 21. "If I died, I would probably tell the world! I took a photo with today's date, just in case you don't believe me! However, thank you all for your concern."
