Kanye West Rants Again: Name Brands Are Fighting for Your Soul

Kanye West's most recent performances abroad have been laced with speeches about his thoughts on various topics. His latest concert was no exception, when he spoke about name brands fighting for the souls of consumers.

West, 35, performed in Amsterdam recently where he spoke about his issues with corporate brands. The rapper spoke in a cadence and paced across the stage at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, Netherland.

The rapper asked the audience if they noticed the advertisements for the Heineken brand that were present at the arena where he was performing.

"Do y'all notice anything different to the left and the right, by the bar?" West asked at the concert, which can be viewed in a YouTube video. "Name brands always fightin' for your soul."

The rapper spoke about the pressure of consumers to buy into branding created by various corporations.

"I just feel like I wanted something better, something fresher. It wasn't because of the pressure it's just that I wanted something better or fresher," West rapped. "See a lot of people by brands because of the pressure, and without the brands they make you feel lesser. Every bus stop there's a message, get like this. Pretty girl, black and white photo. Get like this."

This is not West's first rant since performing overseas. This month West has performed in France and the United Kingdom, where he ranted about his issues with other celebrities like singers Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake.

"Taylor Swift beat Beyonce at the Grammys? Beyonce be dancing in heels and (expletive)," the rapper said at one appearance that was recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

In another rant at London's Hammersmith Apollo earlier this month, West spoke about his feelings concerning the Grammy Awards and Timberlake's latest music.

"Remind me again why we in this (expletive) / Remind me why the GRAMMYs can suck my (expletive)," West said in a cadence at the concert. "Remind me again who's the original Superfly / And I got love for Hov but I ain't (expletive) with that 'Suit & Tie.'"

The rapper is reportedly working on a follow up to his solo album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, according HitFix.com reports.
