Kate Middleton Baby: Duchess, Prince William Head to London With Police Escorts

Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly left Bucklebury for London with police escorts on Friday and fans are speculating whether they may be headed to St. Mary's Hospital.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is said to be due at any moment, reportedly spent time at her parents' ,Carole and Michael's, Berkshire estate in recent days and on July 19 she and William, 30, abruptly departed the residence and made their way to London. Reports immediately questioned whether Middleton, 31, had gone into labor, but a palace rep remained coy.

"We wouldn't comment on the exact whereabouts of the Duke and Duchess – we wouldn't normally do so in their private time," the palace rep told Us magazine.

The Duchess will reportedly have a natural birth in the Lindo wing of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington. The exclusive maternity suite reportedly costs an estimated $7,000 for a one-night stay with normal delivery, according to The Daily Mirror U.K.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, expressed her excitement Monday for the upcoming royal birth, revealing that she along with the British public is anxious for the baby to arrive.

"We don't know what's going to happen. We're all waiting at the end of a telephone," Camilla said according to The Sun U.K. "I hope by the end of the week he or she will be there."

William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, revealed Wednesday that she too is anxious for the royal birth because she is preparing to go on vacation.

"I would very much like [the baby] to arrive because I'm going on holiday soon ... I wish it would hurry up," the Queen said during a trip to Lake Windermere in Cumbria.

While St. James's palace previously confirmed that the Duke and Duchess do not know the gender of their unborn baby, Middleton's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, suspects otherwise.

"My suspicion is that they're having a baby girl. But, of course, I don't know that for fact. I believe Kate and William have kept the sex of their child a secret to everyone but themselves," Goldsmith told The Daily Mirror.

"It would be brilliant, wouldn't it, if they do have a little girl? To have one of my family, my niece, making history will be absolutely unbelievable," he added.
