Kim Kardashian recently took time out of her manicure session at a Hollywood nail salon to give fans a lesson on how to achieve the "perfect" selfie.

The reality TV star, 33, is renowned for her endless selfie sharing on social networking sites, particularly Twitter and Instagram. In a viral new video she revealed her technique for taking good pictures.

Gone are the days of flashing a smile for the camera and calling it a day, Kardashian explained that picture taking can be slightly more complicated for those seeking flawless shots.

"Rule number one, you always have to have it a little higher," Kardashian told Extra before getting distracted by her makeup-free appearance. "Ugh, I look disgusting without make-up!"

In the video the new mom is seen sitting alongside her best friend, Brittny Gastineau, and the enthusiastic pair is seen acting out each selfie technique step.

"So you always have to have it from high to low," Kardashian says as Gastineau emphatically adds "know your angle" and "know the lighting."

The new mom also shed light on why she is still a fan of the widely-ridiculed "duck face" selfie craze. For years fans have witnessed their favorite celebrities falling victim to the pouty-lips trend and Kardashian revealed why the silly expression is so popular.

"No duck face … I love doing [duck lips] because it gets your cheekbones!" a giggling Kardashian explains.

"Totally me too, but everyone gets so annoyed," Gastineau says acknowledging critics as Kardashian adds "they get so mad!"

In October the E! star fueled plastic surgery rumors following the birth of her and Kanye West's daughter, baby North. Critics attributed her drastic weight loss and flawless appearance to going under the knife, but she characteristically took to Twitter to deny the reports.

"I am very frustrated today seeing reports that I got surgery to lose my baby weight! This is FALSE," Kardashian tweeted on Nov. 20.

"I worked so hard to train myself to eat right & healthy, I worked out so hard & this was such a challenge for me but I did it!!! I'm so proud of my accomplishment & NO ONE will take this away from me with fake reports!" she added.
