Christian band the Newsboys' new album Restart debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart.

Phillips unabashedly said that Restart is "the best Newsboys record we've ever penned and recorded," and his bandmates agree.

"This generation has lost its heroes and people to look up to. As a band we want to reengage our culture and have a real positive effect," said drummer Duncan Phillips to the Christian Post. "I think it's time that we jumped in not to be apart of it, knowing who we are and having courage to do the great commission."

The Newsboys recently released a Facebook campaign video in promotion of the lyric video for "Restart." It features all four members of the band, animated in classic 8-bit video game style.

The Newsboys approached Restart wanting to "take music further" by challenging the negatively perceived view of Christian music being lifeless. Phillips told the CP this album was about the art of music and being something that can stand up next to anything and still provide a message.

"I believe Christian music should be better. We shouldn't be copying one another, and this album (Restart), that is what we did. I'm incredibly proud of this record. I think it's going change the face of our fans, but hopefully changes the face of CCM in general," Phillips said.

Tomorrow they will embark on a 20+ city across the U.S. on their Restart Tour with For King & Country, Moriah Peters and Rapture Ruckus.

The Newsboys are also going to be on the Winter Jam 2013 Tour spectacular this fall with Tenth Avenue North, Thousand Foot Krutch, Plumb and Building 429, along with a special worship set from Crowder in select cities or Passion featuring Kristian Stanfill with the gospel presented by Nick Hall.
