Pippa Middleton at Heart of Gun Investigation, Could Face 7 Years in Jail

Pippa Middleton is creating a stir with her involvement in a gun-related incident. Middleton was the passenger in a vehicle when the driver brandished a semi-automatic weapon and could face arrest as a result.

Middleton, 27, is the famous sister of Princess Kate, who is married to England's Prince William. She has made a name for herself with her style and single life. Now, though, she could face arrest for her part in an incident over the weekend. Middleton and three friends were joyriding in an Audi convertible when the driver took out a weapon and brandished it.

A photographer captured the entire scenario on film and has given it to the Paris Judicial Police.

"If the evidence points to her involvement, she will be prosecuted," a source told The Sun. "Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation."

If Middleton and her accomplices are found guilty of brandishing a real weapon, they face up to seven years in jail. Even if the gun is proven to be a toy, all four still face up to two years in jail.

France has recently been cracking down on gun use as a result of several shootings throughout the country. Mohammed Merah used a gun to kill seven people in retaliation for what he saw as grievances against Islamic people.

"If someone has a license for a weapon, then it must be kept covered at all times, and away from members of the public," a judicial source told The Sun. "Waving a weapon in public is not only illegal-it's incredibly stupid," he added.

Buckingham Palace officials have not released a statement regarding Middleton's involvement. Even though she is the sister of Duchess Kate, the Palace has said it does not speak for her. It is unlikely that Kate will speak publicly about the incident, either.
