Selena Gomez Roman Numeral Tattoo on Neck: 'Tribute to Family Member' (PHOTO)

Selena Gomez has committed to her second tattoo, this one a Roman Numeral etching of the number 76 on the back of her neck.

The former Disney star debuted the tattoo in a picture that she posed for with a tattoo artist at New York City based Bang Bang Tattoos. The tattoo was a twenty minute process, according to the company's Facebook page, but Gomez appeared pleased with final result.

The star showed up at the shop in demure attire, wearing an oversized striped sweater, dark jeans, knee high boots, and her hair tied back in a lazy bun. The Roman Numerals, LXXVI, were large enough to take a full center spot of the star's neck. The number "76" apparently has a special meaning to the star.

"The tattoo was a tribute to a family member who she said means a lot to her," the tattoo artist said according to Mail Online. "Selena was nervous it might have been painful, so she held her best friend's hand the whole time. But she did a great job."

The singer's boyfriend, Justin Bieber, also allegedly had some tattoo touch up work done.

Gomez's previous tattoo is a small music note. She suggested that she got something small because at first, she was afraid to deal with the pain.

"I was really scared but I got a little one. I was a pansy, actually!" she said in an earlier interview according to DM. "It's a music note. Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note."

The note was meant to commemorate her career, in adiition to other things.

"I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me. And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."
