Son Alienated From Family After Leaving Islam for Jesus: 'To Have Christ in My Life Makes Every Loss Worth It' (VIDEO)

Growing up, Nabeel Qureshi and his mother were incredibly close. Mother walked Son through her faith of Islam, the most important thing her in life, and he finished reading the Koran at the age of 5. Qureshi and his mother were one in their faith.

However, when he went to college, his faith was tested as he debated Islam against Christianity with a friend. The philosophical tangling came to a head when Qureshi's friend asked him if he would leave everything if Christianity were true.

In time, he decided to follow Christ even if that meant losing it all. When it came to his family, that's what it meant. The union in faith he had with his mother was now severed, and it was excruciating. He told RZIM:

"Since I became a believer, my family has never been the same. My mother has never since had the gleam of joy in her eyes, and my father has never said the words 'I am proud of you.' I have become a point of shame to my family."

But as Qureshi says in this video for his new book "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus," he expected the cost.

"To have Christ in my life makes every loss worth it."
