Starbucks Apologizes for Satanic Symbols in Christian Woman's Coffee
Starbucks has formally apologized to a Louisiana schoolteacher upset over finding satanic symbols in her coffee foam on a Sunday. The woman, who identifies as Catholic, took to Facebook to share her story, which led to an apology from the company.
"I unfortunately can't give the young man's name who served it, because I was so appalled that I could not bring myself to look at him," Megan Pinion wrote in her Facebook post. "I am in no way judging his beliefs of dis-meriting his beautiful artwork. I am however judging his lack of professionalism and respect for others. I am a teacher in the public school system and if I were to present a child of atheist or pagan believers with a Christian art project I could be sued in a heartbeat."
Pinion posted photos of the cups of coffee she ordered. One features a pentagram, while the other is decorated with the numbers 666, which is known as the mark of the devil.

"I am of Catholic faith and would love to share in my beliefs daily," Pinion posted. "Fortunately, I have enough common sense to present myself with professionalism and follow an ethics code. Perhaps that could be suggested to that particular location."
"We have sincerely apologized for her experience," Starbucks social media team spokesman Tom Kuhn told The Daily Advertiser. "This obviously is not the type of experience we want to provide any of customers, and is not representative of the customer service our partners provide to millions of customers every day. We reached out to her through social media and apologized. We're taking the complaint seriously," Kuhn added.
It's unknown if there was malicious intent behind the artwork on the coffee, but all Pinion wanted was an apology, which she has now received. There's no word on whether the barista was disciplined or worse for his actions.
The photo of the coffee has been shared at least 700 times, according to a screenshot of Pinion's Facebook page.
