Jeremy Lin Gets Advice from Grandma After Losing Third Straight Preseason Game: Brooklyn Nets PG was Told to 'Shoot More' [PHOTO]

After losing three preseason games in a row, Jeremy Lin got a practical advice from one of his closest family members. The Brooklyn Nets point guard was advised by his grandmother, Lin Chu A Muen, to contribute more points to the team.

The Timely Advice

On Friday, Lin shared on Facebook that he had lunch with his grandmother. "She told me to shoot more," the 28-year-old Asian-American point guard wrote.

Lin Chu is a known supporter of his grandson's NBA career and has been credited for getting the NBA star interested in playing hoops. She came to the United States years ago to look after the young Lin while his parents are at work.

In an interview with the New York Times in 2012, Lin Chu, now 89, said that she does not know much about basketball. But she added that she knows his grandson has done a good thing when he puts the ball in the basket.

Third Consecutive Loss

Lin's Facebook post came after the Nets suffered a 100-97 loss to the Boston Celtics on Thursday night at Barclays Center. The defeat was the team's third consecutive preseason game loss after bowing down to the Miami Heat (121-100) on Oct. 11 and the New York Knicks (116-98) on Oct. 8.

During the Thursday night preseason game, Lin only made 12 points with seven assists and two steals. Luis Scola led the team with 14 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Brook Lopez, Bojan Bogdanovic and Trevor Booker who all contributed 11 points each.

Despite the loss, Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson told Nets Daily that he is happy about the better defensive effort of the roster. He said that what they are looking for now is improvement and he is impressed on the way the Nets competed.

Praises for Lin

Amid consecutive preseason game losses, Lin continues to reap praises from his teammates and former colleagues. Nets shooting guard Randy Foye recently shared to SiriusXM NBA Radio that Lin's impact on the Nets goes beyond the court.

Foye said he finds Lin amazing after playing with him in the backcourt for several weeks. He stressed that the point guard's work ethics are unbelievable. He also believes that Lin will shock a lot of people in the upcoming season.

Basketball Hall of Famer and former Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale also commended Lin for his improvements since Linsanity days. The TNT analyst told New York Post that Lin remains an aggressive and hardworking player, but he has gotten much better.
