iPhone 4S Bug Silencing Outgoing Calls Draining Device's Battery life?

Apple has confirmed that a number of bugs originating from the new iOS 5 in the iPhone 4S are draining the device's battery life.

Among the several bugs found in Apple's newest operating system, one in particular is receiving a good amount of media scrutiny: a bug silencing outgoing calls.

Several users have notified they are encountering a muted iPhone ear piece while performing outgoing calls; and with no immediate solution on how to re-activate or annul it on hand they have resorted to quick-fix solutions such as plugging and then unplugging earphones, activating and deactivating the speakerphone or running Siri in order to work their way around the problem temporarily.

Apple has officially admitted that iOS 5-related bugs were draining battery life in the iPhone 4S it still isn't clear if the bug mentioned above is directly related to such occurrence.

"We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks," was Apple's statement this week.

Customers have flocked to the Apple website's discussion forum posting 242 pages worth of comments and complaints aimed at a battery life lasting much less than expected and advertised by Apple.

A software update aimed at resolving these problems is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
