20,000 Brazilians Gather for Huge Gospel Music Festival
Gospel Music Festival Broadcast on Brazil's Largest TV Network
A Brazilian gospel singer has described the evangelical gospel music event, the “Promises Festival” (Festival Promessas in Portuguese), as a door opened by God to spread the Gospel through the biggest television network in Brazil.
“For a long time the Brazilian Church has been praying for a moment like this, that it is just the beginning and will not end in this event. It is a time when we could express the message of the Gospel purely through the largest television station in Brazil,” one of the singers, Fernanda Brum, told The Christian Post in an interview.
The event was held by secular TV network Globo and featured eight hours of gospel music shows in Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro, drawing around 20,000 people, according to police.

Several renowned bands participated in the event. Hip Hop singer Pregador Lupo opened in the rainy afternoon followed by rock singer David Sacer.
Fernanda Brum, who is also a pastor and missionary, expressed to CP that the event was a historical moment for evangelical music and for spreading of the Gospel in the country.
“It is a new era for the Gospel in Brazil and it gives us much more responsibility to be more faithful believers,” said Brum.
She highlighted that they could freely talk about the Gospel without being censured. For the famous gospel singer the event was possible by the will of God and was a chance to reach those who had yet to meet Jesus Christ.
At the end of the event, the singers gathered together to sing “Alto Preço (High Price),” a song that states: “With our eyes on Christ, we sing together.”
Thousands clapped their hands as they chanted “Jesus! Jesus!” as the festival ended.
