2011 American Country Awards: Jason Aldean Wins Album, Artist of the Year
Jason Aldean took home six awards from the American Country Awards (ACA) held in Las Vegas on Monday night, including Artist of the Year and Record of the Year for 2011’s My Kinda Party.
"This is getting a little ridiculous now," Aldean said after accepting an award for the second time that night. "I don't know what else to say. It's been a crazy year."
Aldean’s record My Kinda Party went platinum after being released in November last year and has yielded four hit singles so far. The tour to support the record has sold more than 1 million tickets.

Aldean beat out Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band to win the Artist of the Year award. He was nominated for Entertainer of the Year by the Country Music Association (CMA), which held its awards show earlier this year, but lost that honor to Taylor Swift.
His latest album is garnering huge acclaim from peers, critics and awards committees.
My Kinda Party won Album of the Year awards for both the ACA and CMA.
Country Weekly gave the album four stars and writer Ken Tucker said, "Jason Aldean has grown from album to album, deftly improving on each previous project. His latest release continues the upward momentum.”
Critics have lauded Aldean for his ability to stretch the genre and keep a fresh voice despite dipping into the polished Nashville sound.
Aldean first entered the music scene in 2005 with a self-titled album. After winning an Academy of County Music award for Top New Vocalist, Aldean released two albums before My Kinda Party with relatively little fanfare.
The American Country Awards were held for the first time in 2010. Created by the Fox Network, winners are selected entirely by fan voting. It is one of four major awards ceremonies servicing the country music industry.
