Now that Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged as the presumptive Democrat nominee for president, reports have surfaced that she contacted her pastor, the Rev. Amos Brown of Third Baptist Church in San Francisco, California, before deciding to formally enter the race. Brown’s views and past statements are now under the microscope as Harris is all but certain to replace President Joe Biden as the Democrat nominee now that he has dropped out of the race. 

Brown has made a series of controversial and provocative remarks over the years.  Here are five things to know about Harris’ pastor.
