$89 HP TouchPad? Even Cheaper Deal Emerges But is it a Scam?
The HP TouchPad has been a hot market item ever since its price dropped from $499 to just $99.
While that deal may have seemed too good to be true, another deal advertising the tablet computer for $89 just might be a hoax.
The lease-to-own retailer Aaron's has the HP TouchPad advertised in its latest circular for just $89.

After an almost $400 mark down of the TouchPad, a continued discount at a store such as Aaron's may seem plausible.
However, according to the circular, the TouchPad has been marked down from an "everyday low price" of $1424.99.
The Christian Post contacted the Brooklyn location of Aaron's and an associate confirmed that the TouchPad is not selling for $89 but rather for $250 cash.
The TouchPad also currently sells on Amazon for about $250.
The associate refused to comment on why the incorrect circular was made public.
The TouchPad saw its price slashed all the way down to $99; from its original price of $499 after disappointing sales caused HP to discontinue the tablet and its corresponding WebOS.
The $99 sale however sparked demand for the tablet and it began selling out at a number of stores. After purchase, many TouchPad users have stated that they prefer the HP tablet to the iPad.
Reports indicate that 200,000 TouchPads will soon be shipped to retailers. These may be the final TouchPads available to the public.
Following the lead of the TouchPad, many other developers have begun slashing the prices of their tablet computers that are not faring well against the highly popular iPad.
Research In Motion has cut the prices of its BlackBerry PlayBook down 40 percent in retail stores, while its affiliate distributor Roger have been hosting employee sale with prices marked down 50 percent.
