Amy Winehouse Dead - Family and Friends Bid a Tearful Goodbye

Friends and family of Amy Winehouse gathered at London’s Edgwarebury Cemetery in London Tuesday for her funeral. A funeral service was held and her body was then taken to Golders Green Crematorium.

Music producer Mark Ronson and TV star Kelly Osbourne were among the famous friends that attended the funeral in North London. The private service included a eulogy given by Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, and mourners heard Amy’s favorite song, “So Far Away” by Carole King.

According to the Daily Mail, Winehouse’s U.K.-based representative Chris Goodman said, “Mitch’s last words to Amy in his eulogy were ‘Goodnight my angel, sleep tight. Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much’.”

Winehouse’s most recent boyfriend, Reg Traviss, was also in attendance at the funeral. He told Britain’s Sun newspaper, “I have lost my darling who I loved very much.”

Blake-Fielder-Civil, Winehouse’s ex-husband, did not attend the funeral; he is currently serving a 32-month jail sentence for criminal offenses.

Found dead on Saturday, 27-year-old Winehouse was apparently alone in her home in London’s Camden district. U.K. officials commenced an autopsy analysis Monday to determine what killed her, and the toxicology test results are expected in two to four weeks.

There were no signs of drugs found in her apartment, and no formal cause of death has been established.

Monday, Goodman told the Sun newspaper that the person who discovered Winehouse’s death was a bodyguard hired to watch the singer.

“She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep, and when he went to wake her, he found she wasn’t breathing,” the Sun reported Goodman saying.

“He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.”

The official cause of death may not be released until October, the BBC has reported.
