'Anchorman 2' Trailer: The Death of Brick, 24-Hour News and A Gay Vampire (VIDEO)
Second Trailer Debuts for December Comedy Sequel
The "Anchorman 2" trailer was released Tuesday, and as the second trailer for the film, it illuminates a bit more of the legend of Ron Burgundy and the original Channel 4 news team. It also takes advantage of the film's time period, the 1980s, to poke fun at racial, sexual and gender disparities of the time.
The "Anchorman 2" trailer no. 2 begins with the death of Brick Tamland, the inept and possibly mentally challenged member of the news team. However, Brick shows up to his own funeral, highlighting the kind of ridiculous humor the movie will be known for.
"Brick, you're not dead," says Ron Burgundy.

"I'm alive?" Brick responds.
Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 News team have lost their positions in their hometown of San Diego to Ron's wife from the first movie, Veronica Corningstone. However, a 24-hour news network, GNN, is starting, and they ask the team to come to New York to help run it.
In addition to Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brick Tamland (Steve Carrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) Champ Kind (David Koechner) and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), the movie also introduces new characters as well. Linda Jackson (Meagan Good) the owner of GNN and Jack Lime (James Marsden), the top news anchor for the cable news station.
The classic slapstick humor of the past "Anchorman" film is expected for the film— in one scene, the news team gets into a car accident and is pelted with bowling balls and scorpions— but some potentially offending humor is present as well.
"Black. Blaaaack," Ron says when first meeting Linda Jackson, an African-American. The reaction of the news team is similarly funny and insensitive when meeting their first gay co-worker.
"Do you sleep in a coffin?" asks Champ.
"No that's vampires," the man says.
"Are you allowed to be out in the sun?" Brian asks.
"Those are also vampires," the man responds.
"Are you a vampire?" Brick asks.
