Beverly Mitchell Pregnant: '7th Heaven' Star Told 'Auntie Jess' Biel Early On

Fans may best remember Beverly Mitchell as the lovable, emotional Lucy Camden-Kinkirk on "7th Heaven," but the actress has moved on to other roles and recently announced that she will be adding another role to her life: mother. The news came as a shock to the actress-singer, who just celebrated her fourth anniversary with husband Michael Cameron.

"My sense of smell was off the charts," Mitchell told People magazine, which is how she first knew something was different. It was "off the charts to the point where I could smell a kid's dirty diaper from the other side of a restaurant."

When she finally decided to take a pregnancy test, the positive result wasn't convincing enough for Mitchell. "I was like, 'No, it can't be that.' I took seven pregnancy tests. I went to the doctor and had two more tests and they were like, 'Bev, usually when the first one comes out positive, the rest of them will all say the same thing.'"

Now, nine tests later, Mitchell is finally convinced that she and Cameron will welcome their first child in April. It's a great time for the couple, who just celebrated their fourth anniversary with a trip to Italy, which included attending the week-long wedding of Mitchell's former co-star, and best friend, Jessica Biel.

"Jess was one of the first to know. I started crying," Mitchell admitted. "It was really exciting to share that with Auntie Jess."

Mitchell is busy with her own careers, not only as a country singer but starring on "The Secret Life of the American Teenager." She has maintained a close relationship with her "7th Heaven" co-stars but is enjoying her new role on "American Teenager."

Fans have expressed nothing but good wishes for the mother-to-be.

"So excited we can FINALLY share your great news w everyone! Secret was killing me! @beverlymitchel your going to be the best mommy! Luv u" tweeted her former co-star Haylie Duff.

"Wow-imagine that. A couple waiting until they've been married a while to have a baby. Best wishes to the happy family!" added People reader Joyce.
