Beyonce Knowles' Shoes Spark Illuminati Speculation

Beyonce Knowles, 31-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer, recently shared photographs of herself working on a new studio project on Tumblr. However, the singer's wardrobe choices are contributing to speculation about her involvement in a secret society.

While Knowles has shared numerous pictures with her fans on Tumblr, a few recent images of the singer recording music in a studio wearing black and white Nicholas Kirkwood shoes featuring an abstract one-eyed design on each foot has caused some to question her involvement in a secret society. Various fans of the music industry have begun to associate one-eyed symbols with the Illuminati, an alleged secret organization focused on world dominance through media, popular culture and the use of symbolism.

When fans of the 31-year-old singer caught wind of her Nicholas Kirkwood loafers, they took to Twitter to speculate about any symbolic meaning behind them.

"Beyonce's shoes definitely prove she's a member of the Illuminati," one person on the social networking website tweeted.

Another person who never believed that Knowles could be part of an occult secret society reportedly changed their mind after viewing her loafers that reportedly retailed for close to $1,000.

"Beyonce spent a stack on eye-printed loafers," the person tweeted. "Never made up my mind if I believed she was in the illuminati or not until right now."

However others seemed to think that any link between Knowles' choice in loafers and her belonging to a secret society was ridiculous.

"So Beyonce wore these loafers and people are saying they're 'Illuminati shoes,'" one person noticed before disagreeing with the claims. "Personally they look very art deco, very Picasso."

As a former member of the 1990s singing group Destiny's Child, Knowles and her group members were public about their name being inspired by the Bible. In 2007, the singer told The Son, a Christian newspaper, that she grew up as a devout Methodist Christian and revealed that she identified more with spirituality than religion.

"I am about faith and spirituality more so than religion. Doing right by others and not judging. The thing that keeps me grounded is knowing that I'm always protected and that God is in control of things," Knowles said in The Son interview. "For me it is about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what he does for me is something deeply personal. It's where I came from."

Although she seems to have stayed away from faith-based topics in 2012, Knowles spoke about her decision to stop physically attending church in a 2008 Metro UK report.

"I can't really go to church anymore which is a shame. People have come up to me in church during the sermon and, of course, people watch everything I do," Knowles told the publication. "They come up and take pictures on their mobile phones too. They are very nice, but I think God understands if I miss Sunday service!"
