Beyonce Pregnant: Friends React to VMA 2011 Confirmed News

After Beyoncé officially announced her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, her industry peers took little time to react to the news.

Letoya Luckett and Michelle Williams, former members of Beyoncé’s not defunct Destiny’s Child group, expressed their excitement via Twitter after the news broke.

“Overjoyed,” Williams simply stated.

Luckett seemed both in awe of both her former band mate’s performance and pregnancy news.

“WOW!! In tears!! Congrat’s BEY & JAY,” Luckett Tweeted after watching singer’s big announcement at the awards ceremony. “What a beautiful performance Bey!”

Newlywed Kim Kardashian also extended her congratulations to the happy couple, who expressed their excitement for their soon-to-be new addition on camera Sunday night.

“I’m sooo happy for Beyonce & Jay Z,” Kardashian tweeted. “Be’s preggo!!! Congrats!”

Although countless entertainers expressed their joy for the expecting couple, Shaunie O’neal, former wife of basketball player Shaquille O’neal and reality television star, admitted that the world may have been putting pressure on Beyoncé, 30, to have a child.

“I don’t know why we had so much pressure on the child to get pregnant but now that it’s here we’re like ‘Yes,’” O’neal said in an interview with Lauren Turner.

It seemed song-writer, producer and singer The Dream had also been waiting to extend his congratulations to the happy couple.

“I Finally get to say congratulations to Beyoncé and Sean Carter,” The Dream Tweeted. “Bless You Both!”

Although many of the couple’s industry peers expressed their excitement for the pregnancy news, Beyoncé’s family made sure to show their support on Twitter as well.

While Solange, Beyoncé’s little sister, filled her Twitter post with smiley faces and exclamation points, the singers’ cousin, Angie Beyince, spoke about the family’s delight in the news.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” Angie tweeted. “The sweet anticipation of the new arrival!”
