'Boy Meets World' Cast Reuniting for New Series 'Girl Meets World'?
Fans of the ABC-Disney series "Boy Meets World," rejoice! The characters you love may be reuniting for a new series based on the original, following the lives of Cory, Topanga, and their teenage daughter in the tentatively titled series "Girl Meets World."
Ben Savage has been allegedly been talking to Disney Channel executives to produce and star in the upcoming series. And the woman who played the love of his life, Danielle Fishel, is apparently "in" on the project, posting Tweets that tease fans.
"Just want you guys to know that @BenSavage and I have talked and we've decided… Thanksgiving is going to be delicious this year!" Fishel posted this weekend.
Fishel and Savage played childhood sweethearts Cory and Topanga for seven years; fans watched as they went from junior high to high school and beyond. Eventually fans got the wedding they wanted when Cory and Topanga exchanged vows. The last episodes saw the couple leaving for New York and a whole new "world."
If produced, the new series will focus on Cory and Topanga's preteen daughter and her own adventures. It's meant to be a play and continuation of the original series that fans fell in love with in the first place. The series, while not overtly religious, taught family values such as honesty and togetherness.
Post-"Boy Meets World," Savage went on to guest-star on popular shows such as "Without a Trace," "Bones," and "Chuck." Fishel, however, decided on a hosting gig for The Style Network. Both are comfortable on-screen, and one hopes that their passion will carry over to the new series.
So far no other actors have said whether they will rejoin the cast. One fan favorite includes Rider Strong, who has been busy with films, and a TV series titled "Paulilu Mixtape."
