Brooke Mueller Extends Rehab Stay, Quits Smoking
Brooke Mueller has opted to attend outpatient drug therapy in Mexico for seven days, following the postponement of drug charges last week.
Muller was arrested in Aspen on Dec. 3. She is being charged with the possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and a misdemeanor assault charge, after being reported by a woman in a night club.
Mueller, is who is an actress and the former wife of Charlie Sheen, had already been sentenced to 30 days in rehab according to RadarOnline. New reports state that she will now spend another seven days in a Mexico rehabilitation center, to attempt a new form of treatment.

"This is a dramatic turn of events for Brooke as this is the first time she has ever voluntarily decided to stay in rehab," a close source reported to RadarOnline. "Brooke is getting sober for herself, and that is the first time she has ever said that. In the past, family, friends have forced her into rehab, but not this time. Brooke is taking an active role in her sobriety,"
In the middle of last year, Mueller completed a 45-day outpatient rehab program, for alcohol and drug addiction. This is her third arrest since, the last one in 2001 was also for the possession of cocaine.
Mueller is the mother of twins, with Charlie Sheen who was arrested in 2010 for third-degree assault and criminal mischief after attacking his wife in Aspen. The couple officially divorced in 2011, and now share joint custody of the children.
Reports suggest that Muller's current attempt at therapy is her best yet, as the star has gone far beyond her requirements and even decided to quit smoking.
"Brooke quit smoking on her own, she doesn't want to do anything unhealthy to herself anymore," a source told Radar. "Her treatment team is so impressed with her accomplishments. Brooke has said instead of smoking cigarettes, she will take vitamins!"
