Castro Brothers 'Knew Nothing,' Say They Would Have Turned Ariel In

Ariel Castro's two brothers were initially taken into custody with their brother but were released when police could find no evidence linking them to the kidnappings or rapes against three young women. The brothers have said they knew nothing about their brother's crimes and insist that they are innocent.

The two brothers, Pedro and Onil, were arrested last week with their brother, Ariel, after Amanda Berry escaped from Castro's home and called police. Ariel was charged with four counts of rape and kidnapping; Pedro and Onil were released.

"People think Pedro has something to do with this. Pedro don't have nothing to do with this. If I knew, I would have reported it, brother or no brother," Pedro told CNN. "If not the radio, the TV. Something had to be on at all time in the kitchen. So, I couldn't hear nothing else but the radio or the TV."

Something had to be on in order to mask the sounds made by Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight, who were all being held hostage in the home. Over the course of 10 years, the women were tortured and raped; Berry gave birth to a daughter, and Michelle Knight beaten to cause five miscarriages.

"The people out there that know me know Onil Castro is not that person. He's nothing to do with that," Onil insisted.

"I could never think of doing anything like that. If I knew my brother was doing this, in a minute, I would call the cops," Pedro added.

Ariel Castro is being held on $8 million bail; he remains in custody. Meanwhile, the three victims have been reunited with their families and have asked for privacy as they adjust to their new lives.

"Thank you so much for everything you do and continue to do. I am so happy to be home with my family," Berry said through attorney James Wooley.

"I am so happy to be home and want to thank everybody for all your prayers. I just want time now to be with my family," DeJesus added.

"Thank you to everyone for your support and good wishes. I am healthy, happy and safe and will reach out to family, friends and supporters in good time," Knight said.
