Chad Johnson and Mother Lash Out at Critics Amid Child Support Rumors
Chad Johnson may be facing jail time even after escaping serving time for head-butting his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada last August.
While Johnson, 34, avoided jail time last September when he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery charges after engaging in a domestic dispute with Lozada, who TMZ reported helped him avoid jail time. However, Andrea Pearson, the mother of one of Johnson's five children who was born in 2010 is reportedly seeking for him to face jail time after he has allegedly continued to make late child support payments.
According to TMZ, Johnson did not pay his $5,250 child support bill on Oct. 15, and Pearson is looking for the court to make him pay up or face jail time. While there was no comment from Johnson's lawyers at press time, TMZ reported that sources close to the unemployed NFL player said that he provided for his children and their mother which included buying their mother a home.
When one person took to Twitter to question the six-time pro baller about his spending habits amid reports of his failure to pay child support, Johnson was not afraid to reprimand the individual in front of over three million Twitter followers.
"He's flossing in all his designer clothes but has no money for support, that's sad," the person tweeted.
Johnson responded to the critic by tweeting, "Sad is your dumb (expletive) believing everything (you) read."
Johnson's mother, Paula Johnson, also took to Twitter to speak out against the people criticizing her son amid reports of him not paying child support.
"Why you all up in his....get (you) some business," the free agent NFL player's mother tweeted. "I'm trying to be a Christian."
While Johnson did not speak in detail about the claims made against him, TMZ reported that a judge has yet to rule on whether or not the courts need to be involved in the potential case with Pearson.
