Christian Mobile Apps: 'The Christian Mathematician' Combines Math with Bible Teachings

"The Christian Mathematician" application for Apple mobile devices mixes mathematics with Bible study.

Dr. Sharon Robbert of the Trinity Christian College composed the devotionals for the app.

"My thesis is that to use mathematical thinking to understand the concepts of theological principles is the direct problem; development of a Christian perspective of mathematics is the inverse problem,” said Robbert.

"This web-resource is a collection of these mathematical reflections of God. I hope that you find something interesting or inspirational in this collection,” Robbert added.

A table of contents for the app can be found through the app's official website. The topics covered are titled: Single Variable Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Discrete Structures, Statistics, and Linear Algebra.

"The Christian Mathematician is a series of devotionals for Christian math teachers to use for devotions with their students. My sister, Dr. Sharon Robbert, wrote the devotionals. She is a professor at Trinity College in the Illinois," said Sue Metoxen of White Buffalo Solutions.

"We have had our apps downloaded all over the world, and even countries in which Christians are persecuted. Only a little over half of our Christian apps are downloaded in the United States. Apple's international App Store provides a way for Christians to discreetly download Biblical materials they couldn't otherwise access,” Metoxen added.

White Buffalo Solutions also offers several apps for Apple mobile device users. Those apps include “Christian Meditation,” “The Five-Minute Christian Meditation,” “Minneapolis Lakes,” and “Bible Drama Exercises 1.0.”

Over 2,500 downloads have been counted for the company and its app collection thus far.
