Christina Aguilera and Rihanna May Unite for 'Sexually Suggestive' Song, Critics Outraged

Christina Aguilera and Rihanna may collaborate for an upcoming song called "Birthday Cake," and critics fear that the pair may not be an appropriate duo for their young fans.

Pop star Rihanna has recently been dropping hints about a collaboration with 31-year-old Aguilera, via her Twitter page and some worry that a duet between the two could be a repeat of their 2010 "X-Factor" performances, which were blasted by critics as "overtly sexualized," according to the New York Post.

"Would ya'll be mad if Birthday #CAKE became a single?" Rihanna recently tweeted, referring to a song off of her new album "Talk That Talk."

"Now here's the trick question! #IF I put collaborator on it, who would u wanna see lick the icing off????? #CAKE. I need somebody #DIRRRTY on my Birthday #CAKE ;) lol," the singer added.

The 23-year-old's use of the hashtag #DIRRRTY appeared to reference Aguilera's 2002 single "Dirrty" off of her "Stripped" album, in which the mother of one is skimpily dressed and performing raunchy dance moves.

Although an overwhelming amount of fans took to Twitter to express their excitement at the prospect of a collaboration between the two, others suggested that a duet would not be suitable for young fans.

In 2010 over 4,000 complaints were sent to the British media regulator Ofcom and X Factor network ITV after both singers performed various songs on "The X Factor."

The pop idols were criticized for their lack of clothing and sexy dance moves and one Ofcom official said that the performances were "sexual in nature to some extent," insisting that they were inappropriate for younger fans, according to The Guardian U.K.

Critics have pointed out that the lyrics of "Birthday Cake" are sexually suggestive and that a collaboration between Rihanna and Aguilera would likely reflect the sexual lyrics.

The song's lyrics include "Ooh baby, I like it you so excited, don't try to hide it...I'mma make you my b----" and "I know you wanna bite this Its so enticin."

"How awesome would it be if Rihanna (@Rihanna) chose Christina Aguilera (@TheRealXtina) to be part of #Cake? | RihannaXtinaOnCake,"Aguilera's Twitter fan page tweeted.

"Christina Aguilera will be featured in Rihanna's upcoming full single: BIRTHDAY CAKE!: OOOOO," Adik Beyonce Tweeted.
