CM Punk Hits Tim Tebow With 'Pipe Bomb' on Jimmy Fallon

Tim Tebow, 23, was the topic of conversation on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," where the WWE champion CM Punk poked fun at the New York Jets backup quarterback.

The professional wrestler appeared with Fallon recently where he showcased his celebratory "Snow Angel" stance that he compared to Tebow's popular prayer stance that seemed to take a life of its own last NFL season. While Punk explained his process to Fallon, the 33-year-old seven time World Champion also took the opportunity to poke fun at Tebow.

"I know you are a Tim Tebow fan, so this is kind of like Tebowing, except unlike Tebow, I actually am a champion," Punk said on the show.

While some Twitter users questioned if Punk's statements would lead to a new feud in sports, the wrestler admitted that he enjoyed trash talking his opponents, referring to his verbal attacks as "pipe bombs."

"Everybody talks on a microphone," Punk told Fallon. "When I talk on a microphone its lethal, dangerous."

Although Tebow did not immediately respond to verbal jab, some of his fans defended his championship status on Twitter.

"Someone should tell him Tebow won a pair of National Championships," one person tweeted, referring to the QB's two championships from the University of Florida.

The wrestler's "pipe bomb" is not the first that Tebow has had to endure in recent days. Last week, Tebow responded to the criticism that he received for appearing in the media too frequently.

ESPN analyst Tedy Brushchi called Tebow out recently and said the popular backup QB should "disappear."

"Stop talking to the media so much. You need to disappear, okay, Tim Tebow," Brushchi said on the network recently. "You're not the starting quarterback, it's Mark Sanchez's team. I want my voice to come from my head coach and my quarterback -- my starting quarterback."

However, Tebow had no problem defending himself.

"I just do what I'm told. That's something you'd figure (Bruschi) would understand," Tebow said. "I'm doing what I'm asked to do."
