Cruise to Retrace Titanic’s Route on 100th Anniversary of Disaster (VIDEO)
A cruise company will be taking passengers on a historical adventure retracing the route of the Titanic this coming April.
The U.K.-based company, known as Titanic Memorial Cruises, will be marking the 100th anniversary of the most famous maritime disaster of all time by taking passengers on a 12-night cruise along the same route as the Titanic ship sailed a century ago.
Although the journey will deviate a little from the exact voyage of the historic ship, the trip promises to be authentic. The cruise ship will be offering passengers the same menus offered to the original passengers, including a first-class 11-course feast filled with oysters, roast squab and sautéed chicken Lyonnais.

The journey has already sold out, with all 1,309 places on aboard the ship taken.
Some of this year’s passengers are relatives of victims and survivors of the Titanic, but still others have criticized the upcoming cruise as capitalizing on human tragedy, and have labeled the experience as “voyeuristic.”
“I take my lead from those people who are coming on board who lost relatives in the disaster or whose family members survived. They have all said that they could not think of any better way to mark the memory of those who were lost than being at the site of the sinking to pay their respects,” Miles Morgan, managing director of the cruise line said in a statement.
The Belfast-built steamship of dreams fatally sunk on April 15, 1912 after hitting an iceberg just before midnight on April 14. The enormous ship sunk in a little over two hours and claimed the lives of 1,517 men, women, and children.
A memorial service will be held on board the cruise ship on April 15 at 2:20 a.m. local time- the exact time the “unsinkable” ship went down.
