Demi Moore Divorce Sparks Move to Punish Ashton Kutcher Financially

Following Demi Moore’s announcement last Thursday that she will be divorcing Ashton Kutcher, it has allegedly emerged that her lawyers have been instructed to “punish” Kutcher “financially.”

Although the pair signed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding in 2005, Moore is still planning to make a claim against Kutcher’s fortune, said to be worth $140 million.

When the hollywood couple first married, Moore was worth an estimated $150 million and Kutcher did not have anywhere near as much personal wealth. However, after landing the lead role in hit sitcom Two and a Half Men, Kutcher now earns up to $800,000 per episode. He also earns over $6 million a year in other investments.

A source close to Moore told has told The Mail on Sunday, “With a pre-nuptial agreement, Ashton should be sitting pretty.

"These agreements are designed to protect one's earnings during the marriage as well as one's pre-nuptial assets.

"But Demi is furious, raging in fact – you only have to look at every photo you see of her to see the toll Ashton's cheating has taken on her.

"She wants to punish him financially because of the way he has broken her heart. She is talking about going after a share of what he has earned since their marriage on the grounds that she contributed to much of what he has achieved.

"She is going to give him a bitter fight and, whether or not she wins, it will be an expensive lesson for him."

Moore and Kutcher’s marriage fell apart after Kutcher allegedly had sex with 23-year-old Texan Sara Leal in September, on the night of their 6th wedding anniversary at a San Diego hotel room. Moore was left publicly humiliated after the revelation, and had reportedly consulted divorce lawyers as early as October.

The pair has been seen having marriage counseling and trying therapy sessions but the marriage has not worked out.

“She was a wreck. She believes strongly in marriage and she really didn’t want to spend her middle years alone. But in the end, she just couldn’t see any way of making things work. Bruce told her he is in her corner,” the source said to The Mail on Sunday.
